[Some of the men named below may be related to Malcomson: John Pim Jackson Malcomson, William Uprichard Malcomson, Herbert Thomas Malcomson, Herbert Thomas Malcomson, James Greer Bell Malcomson, and Joseph Malcomson. These were persons who claimed to be the owners (or trustees and executors of  their wills) of land in the townland of Ballybray, Barony of Middle Dungannon & Co. Tyrone in 1930. Greer Edmund Malcomson was among them.]

[1] Malcomson came from a well-know Ulster family.

[2] One of Malcomson's noteworthy works was his assistance given to Professor Robert john Stewart McDowall, Physiology (Lond.) in his writing of the book, titled “The Control of the Circulation of the Blood”. The book published with Malcomson's name on the front cover.

[3] Malcolmson's appointment was HKU's first professorial appointment. In other words, he was Hong Kong's first own professor.
